Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"We had the best dinner of our stay in Trapani here. Choosing where to eat had been tricky, as other reviews left us unsure, but this gem was recommended by a lovely lady working at another restaurant where we couldn’t find a table. It turned out to be exactly what we were looking for: authentic, fresh, and cooked with love – like a home-cooked meal. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with friendly, communicative, and genuinely smiling staff. We started with a delicious caponata, followed by two typical Sicilian pastas where you could taste the freshness of the ingredients. We also enjoyed couscous with fish soup (a Trapani specialty) and another seafood dish – a rich fish soup with seafood and slices of bread – absolutely delicious. We left feeling truly uplifted, especially since we’d found it hard to eat well in Trapani due to mixed experiences elsewhere. The restaurant was full of local people, which is always a good sign. We paid €135 in total for all of this: two liters of house wine, one coffee, one dessert (cassata), and our meals. It was worth every cent for an authentic, well-cooked Sicilian dining experience. Friendly suggestion: the only thing we would skip is using balsamic cream as decoration – the food is so genuine and flavorful on its own that it doesn’t need it."
"Walked in and were very lucky someone didn't turn up for their reservations.. very lucky as the food was amazing. We tried both couscous versions, both have the same base and tasted very good! The degustazione antipasto was also fantastic, the panelle with Nero di sepia a revelation! The dishes on other tables also looked very tasty.. service was also great. Decent hous white wine.. I'd definitely return!"
"A must-try restaurant in Trapani! Outstanding fresh seafood based food in a pleasant atmosphere. Professional mature waiting staff know exactly what they are doing hence service is (possibly a little too) swift. Seafood Salad, Sea Bass were stand out. Tuna Steak excellent. Reasonable price."
"This place combines great atmosphere with very tasty and a bit sophisticated food. The buckle white wine is amazing. We ordered mix of 5 starters and it was really interesting choice of foods - great octopus, amazingly fresh fried baby squids, tuna with onion and black rice with fish and last but not least - shrimp tartare. For main dish we chose busiate with shrimps, busiate with San Pietro fish and trenette with sword fish eggs and shrimps. Everything was fresh, nicely served and full of taste! Remember to make a reservation here, it’s hard to find a free table even before the season."
"The owner i believe was the person who helped us order the food though we were new to Trapani he helped us choose the right dishes as we were new to Italy, the food was so good and the service was great too. We had to make a reservation in advance though and that helped. We loved the casatta we had from this place too"
"You cannot go wrong here. The food is absolutely amazing. All of our dishes were superb. We tried Trenetta black with red shrimp and buffalo mozzarella stracciatella, baked sea bass fillet and Red Sea bream. The flavors are explosive. You need to reserve in advance, specially, in the month of August."
"This restaurant was recommended by our driver who said their couscous is the best. He was not wrong! We had the fish soup with couscous and the cod filled with pear sauce. Both very good. The staff was kind enough to tell us how to consume the soup. The broth is in a separate bowl to be added a little at a time to the couscous and dish. To find this restaurant, you really need to know the area. The door is very inconspicuous and looks like a hole in the wall but opens up into a quiet, multiple room, brightly lit place decorated with a mix of modern and traditional decoration. If in town, find this place!"
"GREAT FOOD. Just marvellously executed, quality ingredients, “simple” recipes. Everything was great, so far the most exquisite we’ve eaten so far in Sicily and that’s hard to say, cuz all we’ve done it’s eat spectacularly."
